Magnificent work - I used to dabble in electronics and lash-ups in the eighties and this was the sort of thing I used to make, albeit with a jack to plug into a conventional television as we did not yet have LCD technology.

OMG No way... it's real!
Astonished work!
It's quite work to make a 3D-art look like real thing, but make a real thing which look like a screenshot from PC-game... well, a moment ago I thought it's impossible.

its an interesting concept. Do you plan to do a demo of it?  I really like the way it looks.

Depends how many people want one, I haven't got a tripod or anything so it would probably be one of those awkward one handed videos where the camera spends half the time looking at the floor.

Oh god, I need something like this for my phone. So tired of hunting and pecking with a too-big fingertip on a smooth screen.

The tablet inside is an XP-pen graphics tablet so no, but I usually use it with a small Wacom bamboo tablet which is.

Looks really cool. Wouldn't it have been easier to just get a lap top or a tablet?

How long did it take to wire the keyboard?

Can you take it to school to get bonus points or something?

Yeah, It would have been much easier to get a laptop.
Only a few days for the keyboard what took the longest was waiting for stuff to arrive.
Nah, it was just for fun really.

The good news is you can add a chain and use it as a weapon in the zombie apocalypse!

I'm just starting to learn HTML5
and eventually I want to do something like that and buy parts to make my own little gadgets but it's also so tempting to just get the manufactured products that eliminate the need to do that work in the first place:bucktooth:

Like I want to have a small water proof gadget to take with me kayaking.
So I can watch movies, listening to music, play games, edit photos I take while kayaking etc...
Touch screen and solar recharging are desired components.

Sometimes you just drift when the sea is glass calm and want to relax.

Nice, I like the blunt weapon approach.

I reckon once batteries get an upgrade and more parts become available home made devices like this should be much easier to make. Right now it's better to buy something off the shelf though, even if it's not quite what you want.

Cheers, it uses some off the shelf products so I wouldn't be able to license it. Just a one off :aww:

Yeah, just for sketching mostly but works pretty well. Although a small external drawing tablet makes things much easier :)

And its a "hand-held" meaning ...as in "palm sized" laptop computer -that, again YOU built from "parts at hand" scratch?

:iconhaikuo:
haikuo Featured By Owner Sep 9, 2016
"palm sized" might be stretching it, it's more of a two handed thing. But yeah, I designed and put it together.

Just found the link leading to the DSB log build.
Haven't read it all, but so far impressed by your ingenuity and tech skills towards attempting such.
Wish I had a head for electronics and micro computers.
